Data & AI Engineering Internship
The internship is free and selective. New engineers build real pipelines under our architects’ review and can move into project teams.
About the internship
The Data & AI Engineering Internship is a 13-week programme for people starting out in data engineering. You learn on the standard our client teams use: code in Git, tests on every pipeline and an architect’s review on every merge request.
What you will learn and build
Each block ends with something you build and an architect reviews. The later weeks are spent on real pipelines rather than exercises.
| Weeks | What you learn | What you build |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | SQL, Python, Git and how a merge request is reviewed | Your first merge request, reviewed line by line |
| 3–5 | Ingestion and orchestration with Airflow, transformations with dbt | A scheduled pipeline with schema, freshness and volume tests |
| 6–8 | Lakehouse modelling on Databricks or Snowflake, and Spark basics | Bronze, silver and gold layers for one dataset |
| 9–10 | Metric definitions and dashboards, then a first retrieval assistant | A dashboard on your model, and a small assistant with its own test set |
| 11–13 | Project work under architects’ review | A pipeline built end to end, with its runbook, demoed to the architects |
Mentoring
An engineer from our project teams mentors you through the batch, and our architects review your merge requests the same way they review everyone else’s. You get written comments on your code rather than a grade.
Who should apply
- You are a final-year student or recent graduate, or you are moving into data from another technical field.
- You can write a SQL query with joins and aggregations, and a short Python script.
- You read technical English comfortably and can write a clear paragraph in it.
- You can commit to the whole batch, from 1 November 2026 to 31 January 2027.
Something you have built and can show, such as a university project or a repository, helps. It is not required.
After the internship
The batch ends with a demo of your project to our architects and written feedback on your work. Interns who finish the batch can move into project teams, where they work on client platforms under the same review.
How selection works
- Application. Send your CV with the form below, and links to your code if you have any.
- Short task. A SQL and Python exercise you complete at home.
- Interview. A conversation with an engineer about your task and what you want to learn.
- Decision. We tell you whether you have a place in the batch.
Apply
Send your CV and, if you have them, links to your profile or code. Applications are reviewed in the order they arrive.
